Frequently asked questions
Skies isn’t showing my location.
Open Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Location Services ▸ Skies and choose “While Using the App” or “Always”. Without location access, you can still tap the list button and search for any city.
Why does Skies ask for “Always” location?
With “Always”, widgets, Live Activities, and rain alerts stay accurate as you move, even when Skies is closed. It’s optional — everything else works with “While Using”.
I’m not getting rain or severe-weather alerts.
Make sure notifications are allowed for Skies in Settings ▸ Notifications, and that the alert toggles are on in Skies ▸ Settings. Background updates work best with “Always” location and Background App Refresh enabled.
How do I add widgets?
Touch and hold your Home Screen (or right-click your Mac desktop and choose Edit Widgets), tap +, and choose Skies.
How do I change the app icon?
On iPhone and iPad, open Skies ▸ Settings ▸ App Icon.
Where does the data come from?
Forecasts come from Apple Weather (data sources). Air quality, pollen, and climate history come from Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0). Radar imagery comes from RainViewer.
